Our Timber Purchasing Assistant / Estimator is a vital function within Wingham Timber at the heart of our timber services. A multi-faceted role the successful applicant will enjoy liaising with our Suppliers, our Sales team and our Customers.

You will learn all aspects of mill operations enabling us to accurately estimate timber specials. The successful applicant must be willing to learn, be a good communicator, have attention to detail, be IT literate and competent in maths.

​

Duties to include

  • To accurately calculate and devise quotes for all machined items including works orders in a timely manner.

  • To provide efficient and effective stock control procedures, maintaining a high standard of accuracy.

  • Using computerised quotation system to quote for customers and for follow up quotations and liaising with our sales teams to provide accurate orders and quotations.

 

A good knowledge of Timber and machined timber goods is essential to be successful in this role.

​

Hours of work are Monday to Friday from 08:00am to 17.00pm with a 30 minute break for lunch and 1 in 2 Saturdays from 08:30am to 12:30pm.
