You will be responsible for the smooth, safe and efficient running of our busy yard and our fleet of 3 vehicles (including hgv) . Your duties will include:

• Ensuring that our delivery vehicles are loaded promptly and accurately.

• Ensuring that our customers receive a fast, friendly and effective service

• Organising delivery routes/area

• Collating and controlling Tachographs, weekly driving records, vehicle defects etc

• Day to day supervision of a small team of yard assistants and drivers

• Ensuring that Health and Safety instructions are adhered to by all staff under your supervision

 

The successful applicant must able to work under pressure as they will be responsible for co-ordinating deliveries to meet our demanding customer requirements. You will also need to be sales driven, have excellent communication skills, as well as a good telephone manner.

You must be computer literate and have an in depth knowledge of the local area in order to ensure efficient routing of multi-drop deliveries. A good knowledge of timber and building materials is desirable but full training will be given to the right candidate.

Hours of work are Monday to Friday from 07.00am to 17.00pm with a one hour break for lunch

​

Salary - £34,000 - £36,000 per annum
