We are currently recruiting for a HR and Training Assistant to join our small HR and Training team at our Head Office, Chichester.

This is an incredibly fast paced role that will make you the first point of contact for all employee HR and training queries, resolving issues or escalating to the HR and Training Manager where required.

Your duties as a HR and Training Assistant will include:

  • Day to day administration of the HR Process.

  • Being the first point of contact for all HR queries from staff and management.

  • Managing and maintaining personnel files

  • Carrying out new starter inductions

  • Arranging and attending interviews to support the recruiting Manager in the interview process.

  • To provide support at disciplinary and grievance hearings and to prepare informal letters of concern.

  • To support the HR and Training Manager with organising training e.g. forklift, HIAB, Sales Training, Leadership Training, Driver CPC, First Aid etc.

To be successful in the role, you must:

  • Have previous experience in a HR / Training Assistant role and will ideally be CIPD Level 3 qualified.

  • Be able to maintain confidentiality at all times

  • Have a strong focus on customer service to enhance the credibility of the HR function

  • Be capable of using own initiative

  • Be an effective and confident communicator

  • Seek to continuously improve HR processes for the benefit of the team and the business

  • Be a team player with positive "can do" attitude

  • Strong administrative skills

  • Have a full driving licence as travel to Covers Depots is required on a regular basis.

Hours of work are Monday to Friday from 08.00am to 17.00pm with a one hour break for lunch.
