HR And training advisor 

Head Office, Chichester | Full-Time | 39hpw

We are currently recruiting for a HR and Training Advisor to join our small HR and Training team at our Head Office, Chichester. This is a varied and engaging HR generalist role with a strong emphasis on recruitment and onboarding and providing generalist HR advice to Managers.

This is an incredibly fast paced role that will make you the first point of contact for all employee HR and training queries, resolving issues or escalating to the HR and Training Manager where required.

​

This is an ideal opportunity for someone who already holds CIPD Level 3 and is working towards, or interested in studying for, CIPD Level 5. We will support your development as you build your HR expertise and grow your career.

This is a varied and engaging HR generalist role with a strong emphasis on recruitment and onboarding and providing generalist HR advice.

​

  • Be the first point of contact for managers on any HR queries, coaching and guidance relating to policy, procedure and best practice

  • In conjunction with the appropriate manager, advertise, interview and select in accordance with legislation.

  • Manage employee onboarding process including conducting inductions

  • Prepare contracts of employment and amendments to contracts of employment for authorisation.

  • Manage employee offboarding, including processing leaver paperwork and conducting exit interviews

  • Conduct employee relations activities including grievance/dispute resolution, disciplinary matters, and undertake investigations as necessary

  • To prepare informal letters of concern as required.

  • Assisting in the management of short and long-term absence, balancing the welfare of employees and the needs of the business to identify solutions and remedies

  • To attend Flexible Working Meetings and prepare outcome paperwork.

  • Support managers with performance management processes, including reviews, appraisals and performance improvement plans

  • Track, monitor, evaluate, report and feedback on quarterly 1 to 1 completion activity.

  • To support the HR and Training Manager with organising training e.g. forklift, HIAB, Sales Training, Leadership Training, Driver CPC, First Aid etc.

  • General administration

  • Participating in project teams across the wider HR function

 

To be successful in the role, you must:

​

  • Have previous experience in a HR / Training Assistant/Advisor role and will ideally be CIPD Level 3 qualified.

  • Be able to maintain confidentiality at all times

  • Have a strong focus on customer service to enhance the credibility of the HR function

  • Be capable of using own initiative

  • Be an effective and confident communicator

  • Seek to continuously improve HR processes for the benefit of the team and the business

  • Be a team player with positive "can do" attitude

  • Strong administrative skills

  • Have a full driving licence as travel to Covers Depots is required on a regular basis.

 

Hours of work are Monday to Thursday from 08.00am to 17.00pm with a one hour break for lunch and Fridays from 08.00am to 16.00pm with a one hour break.

 

Salary - £30,000 - £32,000 DOE
