We are recruiting an experienced Workshop Manager/ Technician to join our in-house workshop maintaining our own fleet of commercial vehicles.

This is a Monday–Friday, days-only role with no night shifts or weekend work, offering a stable and predictable working environment.

Unlike many HGV roles, you will be working on a local, well-maintained fleet within our own workshop — no long-distance travel or constant roadside pressure.

What You’ll Be Doing

• To assist the Group Transport Manager in maintaining the group vehicle fleet

• To Manage workshop staff and facility to deliver high levels of service and productivity as required.

• Working with external contractors as required

• Planning/ managing work for a team of up to 4 technicians at our Chichester workshop

• Overseeing the Servicing, inspections/routine maintenance including repairs of HGV vehicles

• MOT preparation and presentation

• Fault finding (mechanical and basic electrical)

• Parts ordering/ maintaining stock as required

• Maintaining accurate service and compliance records to required standards

• Supporting the upkeep of a clean and safe workshop environment

• Attending breakdowns as required from time to time and helping with vehicle movements

 

About You

• Experience working on HGVs or commercial fleet essential

• In depth Knowledge of inspections, servicing and MOT prep to DVSA standards

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• HGV licence (desirable but not essential)

 

Hours

• Monday to Friday

• 07:00 – 17:00

• 47.5 hours per week

• No night shifts
